Dr. Samuel S. Ahn practices vascular surgery and is board-certified in vascular surgery with over 30 years of surgical experience, Dr. Samuel Ahn retains status as one of the leading practitioners in his field. He possesses expertise in minimally invasive endovascular and vascular surgery, treatment for carotid artery disease, and thoracic and abdominal aortic aneurysm repair. Dr. Ahn also has extensive knowledge in lower-extremity bypass and limb salvage procedures.

Dr. Samuel Ahn initially earned his undergraduate degree from The University of Texas at Austin in 1974. He attended the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School from 1974-1978. From 1978 to 1984, he undertook internships and general surgical residencies at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) David Geffen School of Medicine and the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center. In 1985, Dr. Samuel Ahn received a research fellowship in vascular surgery at the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center while undertaking Adjunct Assistant Professor of Surgery duties at the UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine. In 1985, he won the prestigious Sigvaris Award for best abstract in venous disease research. Dr. Samuel Ahn’s research abstract was titled "Selective Surgical Therapy of the Budd-Chiari Syndrome Provides Superior Survival Rates than Conservative Medical Management."

From 1986 to 1998, Dr. Samuel Ahn served as Attending Surgeon & Chief of the Vascular Surgery Section at the Olive View-UCLA Medical Center in Sylmar, California while maintaining attending surgeon status with the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center. During this time, he was also on the faculty of the UCLA Geffen School of Medicine as Assistant and then Associate Professor of Surgery. From 1999 to 2006, he was promoted to Professor of Surgery and Director of Endovascular Surgery within the school’s Division of Vascular Surgery. In 2003, Dr. Samuel Ahn earned the Golden Scalpel Award from the UCLA Division of Vascular Surgery for his teaching and surgical contributions.

Dr. Samuel Ahn holds Attending Surgeon affiliations with Saint John‘s Health Center, the Santa Monica-UCLA Medical Center, Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center, and Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.
