Dr. Roger Bassin

About Me

Board certified in ophthalmology, Dr. Roger Bassin maintains the Bassin Center for Eyelid and Facial Plastic Surgery, PC, in Melbourne, Orlando, Tampa, and The Villages in Florida. Focusing on eyelid, reconstructive, and facial plastic surgery, as well as SmartLipo for the body, he provides numerous other surgical and nonsurgical cosmetic treatments. The skilled physician’s surgical procedures include face and brow lifts, upper and lower eyelid blepharoplasty, and Aqualipo. His nonsurgical offerings range from injectable fillers to chemical peels and laser treatments. Prior to opening the center in 2003, Dr. Roger Bassin performed facial plastic and eyelid surgery at Brevard Eye Center, also a private practice.

A magna cum laude graduate of The George Washington University, where he gained induction into The Phi Beta Kappa Society, Dr. Roger Bassin entered the university’s School of Medicine and Health Sciences following his sophomore year, in the Early Selection Program. At the latter institution, he earned honors in ophthalmology, surgery, neurosurgery, orthopaedics, pediatrics, and other disciplines. Dr. Bassin fulfilled an internship at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York and a residency in ophthalmology at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York. He completed an American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (ASOPRS) oculoplastic fellowship at the University of Illinois at Chicago that included performing more than 500 surgeries and assisting in excess of 2,000 procedures.

Dr. Bassin has contributed to presentations at the ASOPRS Annual Scientific Symposium and to a number of presentations on such topics as “Screening for amblyopia in preverbal children with photoscreening photographs” and “Blepharoplasty and Browplasty.” His co-authored articles have appeared in such publications as Ophthalmology, Ophthalmic Hyperguide, and eMedicine Journal. In guest lectures, he has addressed students at the Chicago Medical School and the University of Illinois at Chicago Eye and Ear Infirmary. Dr. Roger Bassin also has presented workshops at The University of Chicago.
