About Me

Brian Frenzel, the President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Tosk, Inc., obtained his bachelor of science in physics from Stanford University in 1972. Following four years of service in the United States Navy Nuclear Power Program, he returned to Stanford, attending its Graduate School of Business and graduating first in his MBA class in 1978.

Following graduation, Brian Frenzel accepted a management consultant position with The Boston Consulting Group in Menlo Park, California. He continued to advance in his next two positions with Booz Allen & Hamilton (now Booz & Company), in San Francisco and Syntex Corporation (since absorbed by F. Hoffmann-La Roche, Ltd) in Palo Alto, California, holding the respective titles of Principal in the Strategic Management Practice and Director of Corporate Planning and Analysis. In 1984, Brian Frenzel co-founded the first of several companies, Genelabs Technologies, Inc. (absorbed by GlaxoSmithKline, plc.)

As the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer of Genelabs Technologies Inc., Brian Frenzel supervised the operations of this diagnostic and therapeutic product company specializing in immunological disorders and infectious diseases, including AIDS and hepatitis. Following his experience with Genelabs Technologies, Inc., Mr. Frenzel co-founded three more companies, holding key roles in each.

At Adeza Biomedical Corp. (acquired by Cytyc Corp.), Mr. Frenzel focused on products for neonatal medicine, including preterm labor. Mr. Frenzel maintained a women’s health care focus at his next company, Vesta Medical, Inc., which developed therapeutics for dysfunctional uterine bleeding and other conditions, and where he served as the Chairman and CEO until Pfizer, Inc., acquired the business in 1996. Brian Frenzel then turned his attention to neurodegenerative and aging-related conditions by co-founding Centaur Pharmaceuticals, Inc., (subsequently acquired by Evotec, AG) holding the positions of President and CEO.

Tosk, Inc., Brian Frenzel’s current business, is a pharmaceutical company that researches the adverse effects caused by drugs, particularly those that cause dosage limitations such as is the case with most chemotherapeutic agents. Mr. Frenzel and his associates develop new drugs that block such side effects, improving patients’ quality of life while allowing patients to take higher doses if medically necessary.
